📝 Abstract
Globalization has become a defining phenomenon of the modern world, reshaping economic systems, social relations, and cultural practices across societies. This research paper examines the relationship between culture and society in the context of globalization, with a specific focus on its effects on traditional social practices. Culture plays a crucial role in shaping social identity, values, and collective behavior, while traditional practices serve as carriers of historical continuity and community cohesion. The increasing flow of global ideas, media, technology, and lifestyles has created both opportunities and challenges for the preservation of these traditions. The study is based entirely on secondary data collected from books, academic journals, research articles, and reports published between 2018 and 2022. A descriptive and analytical research design is adopted to systematically review existing literature and analyze patterns of cultural change influenced by globalization. Through qualitative content analysis and comparative interpretation, the study explores key themes such as cultural homogenization, cultural hybridity, transformation of family structures, influence of global media, and the commercialization of cultural practices. The analysis reveals that globalization does not result in the complete disappearance of traditional social practices; rather, it leads to their modification and adaptation in response to global influences. Secondary data presented through pie chart and bar graph analysis indicate that a significant proportion of traditions undergo transformation, particularly in areas such as dress, lifestyle, language, and food habits. At the same time, rituals and festivals demonstrate relatively greater resilience due to their deep cultural and religious roots. The findings highlight that globalization impacts different aspects of social life unevenly, depending on cultural strength, institutional support, and societal response.
